“Retro Review: ‘Elektra: Always Bet On Red”

“Elektra: Always Bet On Red was a 2017 comic miniseries (originally released in single-issue format as just Elektra #1 – 5), by Matt Owens. It’s part of the Daredevil franchise, which I’m not a fan of. The only reason I read it was an app.

“I recently started playing the battle app game Marvel Strike Force, with one of the first characters I unlocked for my army being Elektra. She is one of the few characters with two costume options, the default and a cool alternative that could be unlocked with in-game currency (took a long time to save up for it). Since the menu noted the comic that the alternate was taken from, I got curious and googled it. Low and behold, it turned out that the illustrations were done by Juann Cabal, whose work I really liked in All-New Wolverine and its sequel series, X-23, so I wanted to see for myself how he acquitted himself with other characters.“
